I dropped out of Hollywood High at age 15, thinking I would become a professional artist or a cartoonist - and figured that I didn't really need a diploma as long as I knew how to draw.
      I ended up being a sign-painter.

CBS Columbia Studios was diagonally across the intersection at Sunset Blvd. and Gower St. (aka Gower Gulch) where I had my after-school newspaper stand.       My favorite customer, Chet Huntley, had his office on the top floor.
