Back in 1959 I had the idea of becoming a freelance cartoonist and
earning a living by staying home at my drawing board. Furthermore, I'd read that one
could live in Mexico for less than half what it cost in the states.
So I quit my sign-painting job and went to Mexico City.
Well, to make a long story short, I ran out of money before I'd sold enough cartoons to pay
the rent - so I had to come back and look for a job.
Anyway, here are some of the drawings I did back then...
